AMA Grand National Flat Track Racer Nichole Cheza will be running under the Global Products Name for 2008. In addition to Global Products, National Cycle will also be heavily involved. A mutual sponsorship has been awarded earlier this week.

2007-’08 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series Comes To Youngstown, OH & Hampton, VA

After a wild weekend of racing in Louisville, Ky., the 2007-’08 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series moves to Youngstown’s (Ohio) Chevrolet Centre for two nights (Feb. 1-2) of professional indoor arenacross racing between some of the world’s top racers competing in the country’s premier arenacross series. The same weekend the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series will also race in Hampton, Va., at the Hampton Coliseum – setting the stage for some interesting race strategy in terms of which racers will show up at what venue.

Centra Bank Returns as Presenting Sponsor of the Kawasaki/Monster Energy National Motocross at High Point Raceway

Racer Productions announced today that Centra Bank has renewed its role as presenting sponsor of the High Point Pro Motocross National. The race moves from its traditional date to Father’s Day weekend this season.

Chad Reed Wins Monster Energy® Supercross Inside AT&T Park
Team San Manuel’s Chad Reed, of Tampa, Fla., won his third Monster Energy® AMA Supercross, an FIM World Championship, race at AT&T Park despite a rain-soaked track before 37,322 fans. Battling the pouring rain, Yamaha of Troy’s Jason Lawrence, of Carlsbad, Calif., won the first Western Regional AMA Supercross Lites class race of his career.

Tonight’s race marks the first-time ever that Monster Energy® Supercross will be broadcast in high definition on CBS Sports. The one-hour broadcast takes place Sunday at Noon EST.

AMA announces results of Board of Directors election
The American Motorcyclist Association has announced the results of its recent elections for the AMA Board of Directors. In the Southeast Region, incumbent Carl Reynolds of Danville, Virginia, was re-elected. In a special election in the Northeast Region to fill a Board vacancy, Joseph W. Bromley of Warrington, Pennsylvania, was elected.
In addition to his experience as a dealer and promoter, Mr. Reynolds has been active in the AMA for more than 30 years. He first joined the AMA Board of Directors in 1991 and previously served as chairman.

AMA Rights: February 2008
An attack linked to al-Qaida and terror threats against the Dakar Rally forced organizers to cancel the annual race on the eve of the 5,760-mile trek across North African desert scrubland and savannah.
    It was the first time the automobile, motorcycle and truck rally has been called off in its 30-year history. In a statement, organizers blamed "threats launched directly against the race by terrorist organizations", the Dec. 24 killings of a French family and international tensions.
    The race's central appeal - its course through African deserts, scrubland and savannas - is also its weak point, making it difficult to protect thousands of people as they cross remote regions. 550 car, truck and motorcycle drivers were expected.

Chad Johnson, riding # 10 for the Bad Boy Power Drink Honda TUF Racing Team, has an eight point lead in the AX division in the 2008 Toyota AMA Arenacross Series after an impressive showing last weekend. AMA CONSOLIDATES AND STRENGTHENS ITS COMMUNICATIONS FUNCTION
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) announced measures today that are designed to consolidate and strengthen its communications operations and enhance the AMA’s ability to deliver its message to members, the motorcycling community and the public.

“In September we outlined a new vision for the AMA and one of our primary objectives is improved communications, both internally and externally,” said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. “To that end, we have centralized our communications functions for member services and racing. In addition, we have retained industry veteran Pete terHorst and his firm, SymPoint Communications, to provide the AMA with strategic communications direction and counsel.” Dingman added that terHorst will be working closely with AMA staff to bring focus, coherence and efficiency to the Association’s communications efforts.

Toyota AMA Arenacross Series returns to Dallas’ Reunion Arena
The Toyota AMA Arenacross Series – the nation’s premier indoor competition dirt bike racing series - returns to Dallas’ Reunion Arena for one big night of professional indoor motocross racing this Saturday (Jan. 12).

This past weekend the Toyota AMA Arenacross split with two races in Grand Rapids, Mich., and a Saturday night only race in Kansas City, Mo. Splitting the wins in Grand Rapids were Brock Sellards (Babbitt’s Online/Kawasaki on Friday and Team Fiberwise Pasta/Yamaha’s Keith Johnson on Saturday. Winning the Kansas City event was Ti Lube/Honda’s Teddy Maier.

H.O.G. MEMBERS WON'T "WANT TO MISS A THING"

Toyota AMA Arenacross Series Tuesday Interview: Ohio’s Nathan Skaggs
One of the surprises running up front during this year’s Toyota AMA Arenacross Series races has been Ohio’s Nathan Skaggs. After taking the AMA Arenacross Lites class victory on the opening night of Des Moines (Iowa), Skaggs hasn’t let up a bit, challenging every weekend for both Lites class and AMA Arenacross class wins. Skaggs is currently in 10th place overall in the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series standings and has accumulated 51 points towards his AMA Supercross Lites class license.

Live Nation Motor Sports, Inc., announced today a two-year, extended agreement with Asterisk to continue their support and medical presence at all Monster Energy® AMA Supercross an FIM World Championship, races.
