KRAWIEC READY TO RESUME NHRA TITLE CHASE IN LAS VEGAS

MILWAUKEE (Oct. 31, 2008) – It has been a long five weeks for Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Eddie Krawiec. With two races left on the 2008 NHRA POWERade Drag Racing schedule and a Pro Stock Motorcycle championship on the line, Krawiec and the Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines crew have been biding their time since the motorcycle class last raced on September 28 in Memphis. They are more than ready to release that pent-up energy when qualifying begins on Friday for the ACDelco Las Vegas NHRA Nationals at The Strip at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

"I don't mind a break but this has been a long time to wait," said Krawiec. "It would be great to race between Memphis and Las  Vegas, but I don't make the schedule."

Infineon Raceway to Host AMA Supermoto National Championships
Infineon Raceway will step in as a last-minute replacement to host the upcoming AMA Supermoto National Championship Series season finale, Nov. 14-16.

The season finale was originally scheduled for Austin, Texas, but had to be moved because of complications. The weekend event will now take place at the Infineon Raceway Kart Center, which boasts a state-of-the-art track.

Sucker Punch Sally's Partners with Scandinavian Distributor Tailormade V-Twins
Scottsdale, ARIZ--October 30th, 2008--Scottsdale-based custom motorcycle manufacturer Sucker Punch Sally's (SPS) announced today it is taking it's old-school style to Scandinavia. SPS has partnered with Tailormade V-Twins Corporation, a Denmark-based company that will serve as the SPS distributor in Denmark, Norway and Sweden.

With nearly 500 attendees expected, AMA Pro ATV Champion Dustin Wimmer, as well as other top Pro and Amateur ATV riders, including Doug Gust, Josh Creamer, Harold Goodman, Thomas Brown, Cody Gibson, Heather Byrd and many others have confirmed they're attending the ATVA National Motocross Awards Banquet this Saturday at the Grand Resort and Convention Center. AMA announces 2009 AMA National Enduro Championship Series schedule
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) announced today the 2009 schedule for the AMA National Enduro Championship Series. In addition to two new venues, this year's schedule welcomes the historic Alligator Enduro back to the national calendar.

"We're very excited about the 2009 schedule," said AMA Off-Road Director Chuck Weir. "We worked very closely with the National Enduro Promoters Group to put together a program that offers our racers and fans variety, exposure and, of course, the challenging terrain and great riding that they demand."

AMA Flat Track racer Kenny Coolbeth nominated for 2008 AMA SPEED Athlete of the Year award
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is proud to announce that newly crowned 2008 AMA Grand National Twins Champion Kenny Coolbeth is one of five nominees for the 2008 AMA SPEED Athlete of the Year award. The winner will be announced Sunday evening, Nov. 23, at the 2008 AMA Pro Racing Awards Banquet at the Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Ala.

Dating back to 1976, the AMA SPEED Athlete of the Year award is the highest honor bestowed on a professional motorcycle racer competing in AMA events. Past recipients of the award include such legendary names as Bob Hannah, Scott Parker, Kenny Roberts and Ricky Carmichael.

Kanney and DuVall to Represent GNCC Racing in Japan National Cross Country This Weekend
Continuing its strategic alliance with off-road series in Asia and Europe, the Can-Am Grand National Cross Country (GNCC) Series will send two top American racers to compete in the final round of the Japan National Cross Country (JNCC) Series, the AAGP, at the Sugo Circuit on November 2nd. Nathan Kanney (Red Bull KTM), the winner of the final round of the 2008 GNCC tour, and Thad DuVall, the 2008 GNCC XC2 Lites Champion (Am-Pro Yamaha), will compete in the race as guests of the JNCC Series.

AMA congratulates 2008 AMA East vs. West Hare Scrambles Shootout class champions
The first AMA East vs. West Hare Scrambles Shootout is in the books, and Jason Raines, who earlier this year nailed down the AMA Eastern Hare Scrambles Championship, has claimed the overall title and the AMA National No. 1 plate to go with it. Raines took the championship with a dominating win at the winner-take-all competition, held at the Cross Bar Ranch in Davis, Okla.

AMA Pro Racing names Sonoco official fuel of AMA Road Racing
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- AMA Pro Racing today announced that Sunoco has been chosen as the fuel of AMA Road Racing.
 
Sunoco 260 GTX unleaded racing fuel, which contains no oxygenates and no metallic additives, will be used in all of the series' classes, including American Superbike, Daytona SportBike, SunTrust MOTO-GT and SuperSport.

AMA Pro Racing announces class structure for 2009 season
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- AMA Pro Racing announced today its class structure and weekend event package for the 2009 motorcycle road racing season.
 
American Superbike will be the new premier class for AMA Pro Racing, and will showcase the traditional 1,000cc machines that competed in the former AMA Superbike class in the past. The new rules for the class are based on rules that were adopted by a committee comprised of the AMA staff, representatives of the various manufacturers, as well as experienced personnel from the American road racing infrastructure. Much of the new class structure has been architected with the participation and counsel of the major motorcycle manufacturers.

AMA cancels National Dual Sport Trail Riding Series event in Study Butte, Texas
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) announced today the cancellation of the Nov. 8-9 AMA National Dual Sport Trail Riding Series event in Study Butte, Texas. As a result, no AMA-sanctioned dual-sport event is scheduled for this date.

Organizers of the event, the Trail Riders of Houston, requested the cancellation due to circumstances beyond their control. Both organizations express their regret and apologize to AMA members who planned to participate.

BOUAN RIDES BUELL 1125R TO FIM RALLIES CHAMPIONSHIP

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (October 16, 2008) – Buell France rider Denis Bouan rode a Buell 1125R to win the Dark Dog Tour and secure the 2008 FIM (Fédération Internationale de Motocyclisme) International Rallies Championship. Bouan won the Expert Multi-Cylinder class and was the overall winner with a cumulative stage time of 47 minutes 03.84 seconds. It was his third consecutive victory in the event.

 The Dark Dog Tour is a nine-day, 3,200 km (1,988 mile) rally that began on September 27 and concluded on October 5. The route through France stretched from Reims to Toulon through Val de Reuil, Magny-Cours, Alès and Corsica. The event included 17 special timed stages, on racing circuits and public roads, including two night stages. French motorcycle police escorted the event to ensure safety on public roads. Entry is limited to 220 competitors in a variety of classes. Only 164 racers completed the entire distance, which includes long stretches of riding in transition stages with little opportunity for sleep and strict penalties for timing errors and tardiness.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON REPORTS 2008 THIRD QUARTER RESULTS
Milwaukee, Wis., October 16, 2008 -- Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) today announced its results for the third quarter ended September 28, 2008.  Revenue for the quarter was $1.42 billion compared to $1.54 billion in the year ago quarter, a 7.7 percent decrease.  Net income for the quarter was $166.5 million compared to $265.0 million in the third quarter 2007, a decrease of 37.1 percent.  Third quarter diluted earnings per share were $0.71, a 33.6 percent decrease compared to last year’s $1.07.

HARLEY-DAVIDSON CALIFORNIA BIKE WEEK 2008 EVENTS ANNOUNCED

MILWAUKEE (October 15, 2008) - Harley-Davidson Motor Company's presence at California Bike Week 2008 will present a variety of exciting activities open at the Pomona Fairplex in Pomona, Calif., October 24-26, including:

  • Demo rides providing the chance to test ride any number of 2009 Harley-Davidson motorcycles, including the V-Rod Muscle and Tri Glide Ultra Classic. Rides are available from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, and participants must bring a valid motorcycle license, wear a helmet and eye protection, and sign a release form.

AMA Leadership Addresses AMA Congress, Future of Amateur Competition
Leaders of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) addressed the 2008 AMA Congress at the rulemaking body's annual meeting Friday, October 10. Monster Energy Supercross Star Ivan Tedesco Talks to Media About First-Ever Race in Jacksonville
Red Bull Honda's Ivan Tedesco, of Tallahassee, Fla., spoke to the Jacksonville media today about the first-ever Monster Energy Supercross, an FIM World Championship, race that will be held at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium April 4, 2009.

Tedesco, a two-time AMA Supercross Lites champion, was joined by Bob Downey, General Manager of SMG-Jacksonville, Mike Bouda, Director of Jacksonville Sports and Entertainment Board, and Dr. Steve Augustine, of the Asterisk Mobile Medical Unit.

American Motorcyclist Association Congress convenes, passes new lower sound rules for motorcycle competition

American Motorcyclist Association convenes 2008 Congress
PICKERINGTON, Ohio--The 2008 Congress of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) convenes its 41st consecutive annual assembly today, Thursday, October 9, in Columbus, Ohio, for three days of discussion and voting on proposed rule changes to AMA Sports amateur racing programs and AMA Road Riding recreational activities.
 
"A great deal has occurred since we met one year ago," said AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman. "For one, the AMA has sold most of its Pro Racing properties to the Daytona Motorsports Group, and this development allows the Association to focus on improved services for amateur racing activities. Team SuperTrapp's Matt Weidman is 2008 AMA Flat Track Rookie of the Year
DAYTONA BEACH, Florida--AMA Pro Racing is proud to announce that Team SuperTrapp's Matt Weidman is the 2008 AMA Flat Track Rookie of the Year. KOPP WINS 2008 GRAND NATIONAL TWINS FINAL AT HEARTLAND PAR
TOPEKA, KANSAS (October 4, 2008) - Latus Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Joe Kopp won the final event of the 2008 AMA Grand National Twins flat track series, leading every lap on the tight Heartland Park half-mile to take his fourth victory of the season. Two restarts stretched the race to 27 laps, and in the final five-lap segment Kopp out-dueled Moroney's Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Bryan Smith, who finished second. Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory rider Kenny Coolbeth, who clinched the 2008 AMA Grand National Twins championship on Sept. 7 in Monticello, N.Y., was third. All three were aboard Harley-Davidson XR-750 motorcycles.

Teamwork helps Monster Energy's AMA Team USA bring Chamberlain Trophy back to America
PICKERINGTON, Ohio--With its win at the 2008 Red Bull FIM Motocross of Nations in Donington Park, Great Britain, on Sept. 28, Monster Energy's AMA Team USA set a new standard for motocross excellence. The team of James Stewart, Ryan Villopoto and Tim Ferry claimed the coveted Chamberlain Trophy, which goes to the country winning the overall team championship at the annual event, an unprecedented 19th time.

AMA RACE REPORT - MICHAEL BECK

With beautiful weather and great action anticipated in what was called the end of an era for AMA Supersport and AMA Formula Extreme, Beck Racing was prepared to finish the season with a bang and string of good races.

Michael put in two great runs at Mazda Raceway in Monterey, taking his Beck Racing, Graves Motorsports backed, and Premiere Home Entertainment sponsored Yamaha R6 to top-ten finishes in both Supersport and Formula Extreme and claiming a strong 9th place finish in the AMA Supersport Championship standings.

Sixth Annual Chopper's Art Show Raises $2500 Benefit Denver Boys And Girls Club, and Was a Huge Success
DENVER--October 1, 2008--Denver 81 is proud to announce today that their sixth annual Chopper's Art Show raised over $2500 for the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Denver.

The show featured several nationally known artists and motorcycle builders, and an art signing by featured artist Sara Ray.
