Fans, Competitors, Promoters Welcome New Programming On SPEED

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (June 30, 2009) - This weekend's premier AMA Pro Road Racing events at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca will be the first races to air on SPEED in a new, same-weekend programming format that was announced last month.  SPEED's decision to return to same-day or same-weekend coverage of AMA Pro Road Racing has been welcome news for series competitors, promoters and, most importantly, motorcycle road racing fans.

HINES BEATS KRAWIEC IN ALL-HARLEY NHRA FINAL AT NORWALK
NORWALK, Ohio  - In an all-Harley final round, Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines rider Andrew Hines prevailed over Screamin' Eagle/Vance & Hines teammate Eddie Krawiec to win the NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle eliminations at Summit Motorsports Park. It was the first event win for Hines since May 4, 2008 in Madison, Ill. Krawiec, the defending Pro Stock Motorcycle champion, rode his Harley-Davidson V-Rod to a fifth-consecutive final-round appearance and now leads the series by 70 points.

SMITH RIDES HARLEY-DAVIDSON TO VICTORY ON LIMA HALF-MILE
LIMA, Ohio  - Moroney's Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Bryan Smith prevailed in a thrilling seven-lap duel with Blue Springs Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Jared Mees to win the AMA Grand National Twins main event on the Allen County Fairgrounds half-mile. Mees finished second and takes over the season points lead. Halbert Family/Kings Kustoms rider Sammy Halbert finished third. All three riders were on Harley-Davidson XR-750 motorcycles.

MONTEREY, Calif. - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced the details of the "Yamaha Grand Prix Special." Revisions to AMA Pro Flat Track National Hot Shoe Series Announced for Remainder of 2009 Events
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - In an effort to streamline the class structure and improve the quality of the racing product, AMA Pro Racing announced today that the Pro Twins and Expert Twins classes will be combined at all AMA Pro Flat Track National Hot Shoe Half Mile events beginning with the Frederick, Md. event to be held on Saturday, July 4th.  Three classes will compete for their share of the $10,000.00 purse; Twins, Expert Singles and Pro Singles.

Local Riders Racing at the Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix

MONTEREY, Calif. - The 2009 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix is on July 3-5 and three classes of AMA Pro Racing: AMA Pro SuperSport presented bh Shoei, AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL and AMA Pro National Guard American Superbike presented by Parts Unlimited will be competing at the event in addition to the MotoGP World Championship. All three classes have riders from the area who consider Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca their home race track.

MEES AND COOLBETH ON THE PODIUM AT VOLUNTEER SPEEDWAY

BULLS GAP, Tenn. –  Harley-Davidson Wrecking Crew riders took two spots on the podium in the AMA Grand National Twins main event at Volunteer Speedway,  as Blue Springs Harley-Davidson/Screamin' Eagle rider Jared Mees finished second and Harley-Davidson Screamin' Eagle factory rider Kenny Coolbeth was third. Mees finished 0.568 seconds behind the winner, Halbert Family/Kings Kustoms rider Sammy Halbert. All  three riders were on Harley-Davidson XR750 motorcycles.

It was the first Grand National Twins event win for the 21-year-old Halbert, who also won his qualifying heat and earned five points for winning the Dash for Cash bonus  sprint at Volunteer Speedway.

Prospective Milestone for Carr at Bulls Gap

SPALDING EARNS THUNDERBIKE POINTS LEAD AT LOUDON

LOUDON, N.H. - Hal's Harley-Davidson/Buell/Hal's Speed Shop rider Joel Spalding moved into the Pro Thunderbike series points lead with a third-place finish aboard a Buell XB12R at this weekend's ASRA Michelin Pro Series race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

Spalding qualified fifth for the Thunderbike National. Ducati rider Brett Guyer of Stratham, N.H. was the top qualifier and also won the 15-lap race. Todd Babcock of Hampton, N.Y. was second on a Suzuki.

Riders, Teams and the Media Bicycle Together at Mazda Raceway
ONTEREY, Calif. (June 17, 2009) - Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca announced that the riders from the 2009 Red Bull U.S. Grand Prix, their teams and media will be on track - but on bicycles to kick-off the weekend's event together with pedal power. The event will take place on July 2 from 5:30 - 7:00 p.m. on the world-renowned circuit.

The fastest motorcycle riders will get to test their pedal worthiness on the 2.238-mile course and the media can experience the race track via the bicycle seat with the very subjects they write about and photograph.

H.O.G. SETS FIVE MILLION MILE MONDAY GOAL
MILWAUKEE - (June 16, 2009) On Monday, June 29, 2009, Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) members around the world will band together in a singular challenge, to log a cumulative five million riding miles by the day's end.

Following the phenomenal success of last year's inaugural Million Mile Monday, which tripled the original goal of one million miles ridden by H.O.G. members to 3,000,960 miles, the goal for this year's ride on June 29 has been stretched to five million miles.

KNAPP POSTS STRONG BUELL FINISHES AT ROAD AMERICA
East Troy, Wis. Taylor Knapp posted fourth and sixth place finishes aboard his Latus Motor's Buell 1125R in last weekend's AMA Pro Racing Daytona SportBike double header at Road America, his best finishes of the season.

Knapp's fourth place finish in Saturday's rain-soaked Race 1, which included a two-lap dash for the checkered flag after a late-race caution, was a test of fortitude and survival for the 22-year-old, Lapeer, MI-based racer.

BUELL TEAMS HEAD HOME TO ROAD AMERICA

East Troy, Wis. -Buell racers and teams head into the sixth round of the 2009 AMA Pro Road Racing season at Road America in Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin, June 5-7 with optimism and high expectations at the company's home track.

With three wins so far in the Daytona SportBike class, early season standout Danny Eslick (Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Racing/RMR/GEICO Powersports) has seen his one-time points lead slip to third place with challenging races at the last two rounds at Barber and Infineon. Architect of championship racing programs joins AMA Motorcycle Hall of Fame this December at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas

& Casino in Las Vegas this Dec. 5.
