Tough Breaks for Cardenas and DiSalvo During Fontana Superpole
|
| Team M4 Suzuki
showed their strength in race trim on Friday at Auto Club Speedway
in Fontana, California, posting the fastest and fifth fastest laps
during AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL Basic
Qualifying. Team riders Jason DiSalvo and Martin Cardenas weren't as
fortunate in the unpredictable Superpole session, but expect to be
in contention for the win in Saturday's 21-lap race.

Higbee's inspiring privateer run to a top five finish in last
month's Daytona 200 was the highlight of Buell's results at the AMA
season opener, but it also marked an important milestone in Higbee's
career as the race came on his last day as an employee of Buell
Motorcycle Company. Today, Higbee kicks off his re-entry into AMA
Pro racing as a full-time privateer as AMA Pro Racing competition
begins at Auto Club Speedway in Fontana, California.

culture through a thematic presentation of motorcycles and graphic

AMA public service announcement regarding youth
bike ban |
The American
Motorcyclist Association (AMA) has made available a video public
service
announcement (PSA) regarding the current ban on the sale of youth
off-highway vehicles
(OHVs), which includes motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles,
intended for kids 12
and under.
The 54-second video features AMA President and CEO Rob Dingman
discussing the ban
and encourages viewers to contact their representatives in Congress
and the Consumer
Products Safety Commission to end the ban.

Biker Fusion Raises Over $24,000 for Soldier's Angels |
| DAYTONA BEACH,
Fla.--March 16, 2008-- The Seminole Hard Rock Roadhouse's Biker
Fusion party was once again the hottest event in Daytona during Bike
Week 2009. The event was held Thursday, March 5 at the Dog House Bar
& Grill on Main Street and raised over $24,000 for Soldiers
Angels, and organization whose mission is "may no solider go
unloved."

| Senate
leadership has revived attack on motorized access to public lands |

PICKERINGTON,
Ohio -- The Omnibus Public Land Management Act of 2009 -- which
would
prohibit motorized vehicle access by off-highway motorcycles and
all-terrain vehicles
to more than 2 million acres of public lands -- has been revived in
the Senate,
the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) reports.
Although the original bill, S. 22, was defeated on March 11 in the
U.S. House of
Representatives following Senate approval, it has been revived
as part of H.R.
146, the Revolutionary War and War of 1812 Battlefield Acquisition
Grant Program.
"Despite last week's defeat of S. 22 in the House, the Senate
is employing rare
tactics to shove this ban through Congress," said Ed Moreland,
the AMA's vice president
for government relations.

Pascarella Second for LTD Racing in Daytona SuperSport Debut

BEACH, Fla. - LTD Racing's Joey Pascarella finished second in
the Daytona round of AMA Pro SuperSport presented by Shoei, battling
for the victory in the 12-lap event with winner Tyler Odom and Russ
Wikle. "Jo-Jo" ran at the front and led a significant
portion of his first-ever AMA Pro SuperSport race at the 3.51-mile
Daytona International Speedway circuit, earning a podium result on
his No. 25 LTD Racing Yamaha R6 with Ohlins suspension. Teammate
Huntley Nash fought for third place before crashing. Nash's bid for
a podium result came up fruitless but "Hunt" continued to
fight hard and took sixteenth after remounting.

to be one of the stars in the debut of the new AMA Pro SuperSport
presented by Shoei class, a new category designed to groom the stars
of the future. The Alabama native took full advantage of his front
row qualifying position (3rd, 1:44.738) and fought for the win
throughout the race on his No. 5 Roadracingworld.com Suzuki
GSX-R600. After leading nine of the race's 12 laps, Wikle ended up
third at the flag, just 0.002 off of second.

kills bill that would have closed 2 million acres to off-highway
riding |

PICKERINGTON,
Ohio -- In a major victory for off-highway motorcycle and
all-terrain
vehicle (ATV) riders, the U.S. House on Wednesday, March 11, voted
down a bill that
would have banned motorized vehicles from more than 2 million acres
of public land,
the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) reports.
The bill -- Senate Bill 22: The Omnibus Public Land Management Act
of 2009 -- failed
to get the required two-thirds vote of the House members for
approval. The vote
was 282 yes to 144 no, with six lawmakers abstaining.

BUELL IN DAYTONA 200 TOP 5 |

East Troy, Wis. (March 7, 2009) Shawn Higbee
made an incredible and unexpected run from a 16th place start to a
fifth place finish in the 68th running of the Daytona 200 Friday
night at Daytona International Speedway with a Buell 1125R that was
virtually built from the ground up in the Speedway garages in the
days prior to the race.
Higbee, who arrived at Daytona earlier in the
week with a sparse crew, a stock street bike, and a crate engine,
worked his way up near the top ten and benefitted from a strategic
decision by his crew chief to pit during a mid-race caution.

motorcyclists and ATV riders join state lawmakers to seek lead-law
exemption |

Ohio -- Young riders, parents, state lawmakers and others concerned
about the current federal ban on selling youth dirtbikes and
all-terrain vehicles
(ATVs) rallied on the steps of the Missouri State Capitol in
Jefferson City, Wednesday,
March 4, to support an exemption to the Consumer Product Safety
Improvement Act
(CPSIA) of 2008, the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA)
reports.
The press conference that followed was organized by State Rep. Tom
Self (R-Cole
Camp), who also sponsored a successful Missouri House resolution
urging the Consumer
Product Safety Commission (CPSC) to "provide a waiver or
exclusion for youth ATVs
and motorcycles from the lead limit requirements of the Consumer
Product Safety
Improvement Act."

Scores First Daytona 200 by Honda Win for Team Graves Yamaha Under
the Lights |
DAYTONA
BEACH, Fla. - Ben Bostrom took the lead from M4 Suzuki rider
Jason DiSalvo on the run through Daytona International Speedway's
tri-oval on Lap 53 and then joined young teammate Josh Herrin in
scoring a one-two finish for Team Graves Yamaha Friday in the
Daytona 200 by Honda AMA Pro Daytona SportBike presented by AMSOIL
race.
Starting first on the grid on his No. 1s Yamaha YZF-R6 after winning
the pole in Thursday's single-bike Superpole qualifying, Bostrom
became the first rider since Miguel Duhamel in 2005 to win America's
premier motorcycle road race from the top starting spot. He
won his first career Daytona 200 victory in his fifth start and had
a previous best finish of second in 2003.

Speed Shop rider Dan Bilansky rode a Buell XB12R to win the
Thunderbike National at the first round of the 2009 ASRA Michelin
Pro Series at Daytona International Speedway. Bilansky executed a
perfect last-lap drafting pass of the defending Thunderbike
champion, BMW of Atlanta rider Nate Kern, to take the win.

sprint racing on Saturday at Daytona, Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona
Racing Buell rider Danny Eslick scored a convincing victory in
Expert SuperTwins, the first Daytona victory for a rider aboard a
Buell 1125R. On Sunday, Bruce Rossmeyer's Daytona Racing Buell rider
Michael Barnes, testing his injured hand in preparation for the
March 6 Daytona 200, rode a Buell 1125R to second place in Expert
Unlimited SuperSport.

Eslick will start ahead of 72 other riders
alongside Graves Yamaha's 2008 AMA Supersport champion Ben Bostrom,
who edged out Eslick by just 0.112 second to claim the pole position
and the prize of a new Rolex watch with a 1.50.240-second lap on the
final lap of the evening shootout-style Superpole session.
