COOLBETH WANTS TO TAKE HAGERSTOWN ONE STEP FURTHER FROM 2006 AMA FLAT TRACK RESULTS
Screamin' Eagle Wrecking Crew Rider Kopp Wants a Second Maryland Victory

MILWAUKEE (July 26, 2007) –When the AMA Flat Track Twins event at Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Md., kicks off Saturday, there are going to be a handful of riders who can plead a great case of why they should win.

Last year, Screamin' Eagle Harley-Davidson factory rider Kenny Coolbeth finished second at Hagerstown en route to earning the 2006 AMA Twins championship. Coolbeth has earned three wins in the first six races of the season and he's currently in second place, just five points behind Wrecking Crew rider Jared Mees.

Mees is the points leader going into the event and has earned three wins on his Blue Springs Harley-Davidson. He has never won the event at Hagerstown and is looking to change that this weekend.

Joe Kopp and his Team Latus/Screamin' Eagle team would like nothing more than to win at Hagerstown – again. Kopp earned the victory there in 2005.

The fourth member of the Wrecking Crew, Bryan Smith, has one career win on his resume and is confident his Pat Moroney's Harley-Davidson team can pull their way out of a winless streak that goes back to the fall Springfield, Ill., event last season.

Each of the Wrecking Crew members have their own case for why he should win the race, but only one racer will earn the top spot on the podium when it's all said and done on Saturday. And don't forget about the other 14 riders who will qualify for the 18-rider main event.

Coolbeth has not only won three of the six events so far, but he has earned the last two wins going into the annual stop in Maryland.

"Anything can happen in this sport as long as you keep an open mind and do the best you can every second," Coolbeth said. "Every weekend I have more confidence in my team and in the equipment. Last year was my first with the Screamin' Eagle program and it was all new and fresh.

"We've meshed in the year we've been together as a team and we have the tools it is going to take to compete to keep our current winning streak alive."

There are seven races left this season and Coolbeth knows every point matters.

"We just need points," Coolbeth said. "That's the biggest thing on our minds. (Crewmembers) Ryan and Craig and I are very motivated and everything is clicking."
