The Toyota AMA Arenacross Series – the nation’s premier indoor
competition dirt bike racing series - returns to Dallas’ Reunion Arena
for one big night of professional indoor motocross racing this Saturday
(Jan. 12).
This past weekend the Toyota AMA Arenacross split with two races in
Grand Rapids, Mich., and a Saturday night only race in Kansas City, Mo.
Splitting the wins in Grand Rapids were Brock Sellards (Babbitt’s
Online/Kawasaki on Friday and Team Fiberwise Pasta/Yamaha’s Keith
Johnson on Saturday. Winning the Kansas City event was Ti Lube/Honda’s
Teddy Maier.
“The stars of the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series will be out in full
force in Dallas this weekend,” said Jayme Dalsing, director of the
Toyota AMA Arenacross Series. “Texas is a hotbed for motocross racers
and many work up through the ranks to race pro in the Toyota AMA
Arenacross Series. We’re looking forward to returning to Dallas’
Reunion Arena after a year’s hiatus. The action’s always great in
that facility and we’re expecting a big crowd with the one night of
racing action Jan. 12th.”
The last time the Toyota AMA Arenacross Series gate dropped in
Reunion Arena it was all Brock Sellards. The Ohioan torched the field,
sweeping both the Friday and Saturday night Arenacross class main
events. Equally as impressive as Sellards in the AMA Arenacross Lites
class was Shawn Clark, who went 1-1.
With another Toyota AMA Arenacross Series event playing out in
Baltimore the same weekend, it’ll be interesting to see which racers
will show up where. If defending champ Sellards decides on Baltimore,
there’s sure to be a local pro racer ready to step up and take his
place! One thing for sure is the action will be incredibly intense as
Toyota AMA Arenacross Series champion bragging rights for the State of
Texas are on the line in Dallas on Jan 12th!
