AMA FLAT TRACK CHAMPIONSHIP ADDS TWO EVENTS FOR 2008
February 27, 2008
AMA Racing news release
AMA Racing announced today that two new events have been added to the
2008 AMA Flat Track Championship schedule. For the first time, Grove
City, Ohio (July 11-12), and Billings, Mont. (Aug. 2) will each host a
race.
“We’re extremely excited that we are working together to bring a
Mile race to the hometown of the AMA,” said Michael Weiss, General
Manager of Beulah Park. “Columbus deserves to host this race and we
are determined to put the Beulah Mile on the map as one of the premier
events in the country.” The Beulah Park GNC Twins Mile is a two-day
event, with qualifying on Friday, July 11, and racing on Saturday, July
12. Log on to www.beulahpark.com

2008 marks the first time in the history of AMA Grand National
Championship racing that the series will visit Montana. The race is part
of the Warm Up® schedule for the annual Ride the Big Sky® rally.
“The road rally, hillclimb and flat track races which make up the Warm
Up event were combined to welcome motorcycle enthusiasts to Ride the Big
Sky,” commented Mike Marsh, president of Recreational Action Sports
Entertainment, LLC. “Billings, Montana is a hub to some of the most
scenic road rides in the country, including attractions such as
Yellowstone National Park, the Beartooth Highway and the Sturgis Rally.
We are thrilled to add the AMA Grand National Flat Track event as the
highlight for 2008.”
MetraPark Raceway in Billings is the site of the Aug. 2 AMA GNC Single
Half-mile event. Call (406) 656-9960 for more information.
"The addition of these two new events in the heart of the racing
season makes the 2008 AMA Flat Track Championship even stronger,"
said AMA Flat Track Director Ken Saillant. "We’re proud to bring
Grand National racing to Montana for the first time ever, and it's great
to have the series return to the AMA's backyard at an all-new
venue."
