Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum to welcome off-road stars
Friday, October 3
Pickerington,
Ohio - The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA)
announced today an exciting opportunity for race fans to
meet and greet the biggest stars of the new extreme
sport of Endurocross at the AMA's Motorcycle Hall of
Fame Museum on Friday, October 3, from 7-9 p.m.
Pro riders expected to attend the session include
Monster Energy Kawasaki's Ricky Dietrich, Destry Abbott
and Damon Huffman; Red Bull KTM's Mike Lafferty, Taddy
Blasuziak and Mike Brown; and Zip-Ty Suzuki's Ty Davis.
"The AMA's Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum is very
pleased to welcome these stars of the knock-down,
drag-out, anything-goes sport of Endurocross," said
Mark Mederski, executive director of the AMA's
Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum. "This will be a
unique chance for visitors to both meet today's top
racers and experience motorcycling's heritage, evident
in the current rotating exhibits and permanent
collection of the AMA's Motorcycle Hall of Fame
Museum."
Also expected to attend the autograph session are two of
America's off-road greats, AMA Motorcycle Hall of Famers
John and Jack Penton. John Penton is the founder of
Penton Motorcycles and a driving force behind the early
growth of off-road racing in the United States. Jack
Penton is a 12-time International Six Day Trials
competitor.
On location during the autograph session will be the
Versus Network Motorsports Hour TV crew. Versus airs the
AMA/MAXXIS National Endurocross Series and will be
shooting video of the autograph session, offering some
visitors the chance to make the broadcast.
The day after the autograph session, fans will be able
to catch round five of the AMA/MAXXIS National
Endurocross Series presented by Lucas Oil, held at Value
City Arena in Columbus, Saturday, October 4. Endurocross
has become a fan-favorite with its ample use
off-road-inspired obstacles, such as rocks, boulders,
logs, sand, mud and even giant tires. More information
about Endurocross can be found at www.endurocross.com.
Since 1924, the AMA has promoted and
protected the motorcycling lifestyle. AMA members come
from all walks of life and they navigate many different
roads on their journey to the same destination: freedom on
two wheels. As the world's largest motorcycle organization
with nearly 300,000 members, the AMA advocates for
motorcyclists' interests in the halls of local, state and
federal government, the committees of international
governing organizations and the court of public opinion.
Through member clubs, promoters and partners, the AMA
sanctions more motorsports competition events than any
other organization in the world. Through its Motorcycle
Hall of Fame Museum, the AMA preserves the heritage of
motorcycling for future generations. For more information,
