American Motorcyclist Association Announces Dates, Location for 2008
Professional and Amateur Banquets
The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is pleased to announce that
the annual 2008 AMA Sports and AMA Pro Racing awards banquets will be held
at Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Ala., Nov. 22 and 23.
The much-anticipated gathering of motorcycle racing superstars honors the
accomplishments of the year's amateur and professional champions, and is
attended by their families, friends, fans and industry leaders. In
addition to serving as the official end-of-season ceremony for
AMA-sanctioned racing events, the banquets provide enthusiasts one of
their best opportunities to meet and greet their racing heroes.
The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum houses one of the most spectacular
collections of motorcycles in the world. The facility, set on the grounds
of Barber Motorsports Park, displays scores of historic and popular
motorcycles from a collection of more than 1,200 machines. The
meticulously restored bikes range from a Honda RC161 to a Bohmerland
three-seater to a world-championship-winning Morbidelli to everything in
between.
"The Barber Vintage Motorsports Museum is a world-class venue, making
it the perfect setting for recognizing our world-class athletes,"
said Rob Dingman, AMA president and CEO. "Across the board, from the
national Vet class enduro champion to the 2008 AMA Superbike champion,
this weekend will honor the best motorcycle racers from all disciplines.
The AMA couldn't be more thrilled to showcase our top riders in one of the
world's finest facilities dedicated to our shared motorcycling
heritage."

22, and will present national awards to the top riders in AMA Sports
sanctioned events and series, such as the AMA FMF Racing National Enduro
Series, the AMA FMF Racing National Hare & Hound Series, the AMA/MAXXIS
