HIRO
KOISO, SHATTERS THE LAND SPEED FIM WORLD RECORD
WITH
A SPEED OF 177.577 MPH
World
Record Set for the First Time Ever on a Harley-Davidson Motorcycle
LAS VEGAS,
NEVADA (October 16, 2008) – Hiro Koiso, a highly-skilled service
technician at Las Vegas Harley-Davidson shatters the Land Speed FIM
World Record with a speed of 177.577* MPH at the BUB Motorcycle
Speed Trials at Bonneville Flats, Utah, September 2-7, 2008.
If that’s not amazing enough, it was done for the first time ever
on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle!
With his 2006
Harley-Davidson FXD custom built 131 cubic inch (2150cc) 174 rear
wheel horsepower motorcycle, Hiro set out to challenge both the
American Motorcycle Association (AMA) National Land Speed Record of
144.486 MPH in the 3000 MPG class and the FIM World Record in
Division A, Class 13 of 149.263.MPG Neither class allows
a fairing. Despite a displacement disadvantage in class
and among purpose built race bikes, Hiro shattered both records with
his street-ridden, pump gas motorcycle.
Breaking the
FIM World Record by 28.314 MPH and the AMA National Record by 33.091
MPH, Hiro stated, “This motorcycle represents one man’s dream,
my dream, passion and dedication to Harley-Davidson motorcycles.”
Hiro and his
World Record setting Harley-Davidson motorcycle will be available
during a meet and greet during Las Vegas Harley-Davidson’s 2009
Open House, Saturday, October 18 from 1:30 – 3:30 PM.
Everyone’s welcome to view this very unique machine and talk with
Hiro about his record setting experience.
