Local Riders Featured at AMA Supermoto finale, Nov. 14-16
A number of local riders will be featured this weekend as
Infineon Raceway will host the XTRM AMA Supermoto Championship,
presented by Parts Unlimited.
Championships will be decided at the Infineon Raceway Kart Center in
three professional categories (Supermoto Premier, Supermoto Lites
and Supermoto Unlimited) on a track comprised of both pavement and
dirt.
Tyler O'Hara (Petaluma, Supermoto Premier): O'Hara received his
first bike at four years old and competed in his first race at five.
With 16 years of racing experience, O'Hara has been racing as a pro
since 2005 and competed in his first Supermoto race mid-season last
year.
Dan Casey (Vallejo, Supermoto Lites): Casey is the top local
competitor entering the weekend, currently ranked third in Supermoto
Lites. He has earned four top-five finishes in four starts
this season, including two third-place finishes.
Joey Pascarella (Vacaville, Supermoto Lites): Sixteen-year-old
Pascarella is already a two-time amateur Supermoto National
Champion, but he will make his first professional start at Infineon
Raceway this weekend. He competed in the Red Bull AMA US
Rookies Cup this year, finishing seventh in the points standings
with eight top-10 finishes.
Casey Yarrow (Vacaville, Supermoto Lites): Yarrow has been racing
motorcycles since he was four years old, and he enters this weekend
ranked fifth in Supermoto Lites. Yarrow earned a best finish
of fourth this season at Round 3 in Shawano, Wisc.
Andrew Dickson (San Francisco, Supermoto Premier): San
Francisco's Dickson has been a successful rider on the Northern
California Supermoto scene for several years, including top-five
finishes in multiple championships.
Dave Flashberger (Pleasanton, Supermoto Unlimited): Flashberger, a
father of two and a realtor in the East Bay, will compete in the
Supermoto Unlimited class this weekend. This will mark his
second AMA Championship race of the year; he finished 11th at Miller
Motorsports Park in Utah in September. Flashberger started
racing motorcycles in 1987, and made the switch to Supermoto in
2005.
