The American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) is proud to
announce that P Swiss, a new and innovative Swiss-made watch
brand, will present the AMA Sports and ATVA Athletes of the Year
with a model from the P Swiss Planet line at the 2008 AMA Sports
Awards Banquet on Saturday evening, Nov. 22, at the Barber Vintage
Motorsports Museum in Leeds, Ala.
"P Swiss offers a range of unique and stylistic timepieces
that combine traditional Swiss quality with a modern design,"
said AMA Director of Business Development Jim Moore. "We're
excited that this leading watchmaker is helping honor our most
successful competitors with such a fine example from its
line."
Riders nominated for the AMA Sports Athlete of the Year
include: Ricky Dietrich of Menifee, Calif.; Darryn Durham of
Butler, Pa.; PJ Larsen of Stanley, N.C.; Jason Raines of Belfair,
Wash.; and Stephen Vanderkuur of Davison, Mich.
Riders nominated for the ATVA Athlete of the Year include: Bill
Ballance of Smiths Grove, Ky.; Michael Coburn of Garretson, S.D.;
Cody Gibson of Englewood, Tenn.; and Harold Goodman of Romulus,
Mich.
"The AMA Sports and ATVA Athletes of the Year represent
some of the fastest, most-talented, hard-core motorsports stars
competing today," said Earl T. Shannon, P Swiss Inc. CEO.
"It's only natural that we support these top talents, and
what better way to do that than with one of our most popular
models, the modern and adaptable P Swiss Planet."
Like all P Swiss watches, the Planet features a scratch
resistant sapphire crystal and is water resistant to a minimum of
50 meters. All P Swiss watches come with quick-change straps,
available in genuine alligator, leather, sateen, rubber or a
stainless steel bracelet.
In addition to the Athletes of the Year, hundreds of champions
and other special honorees will be recognized at the AMA Sports
Awards Banquet, held this year at the stunning Barber Vintage
Motorsports Museum, which includes a collection of more than 1,200
historic and rare motorcycles, and is located on the grounds of
the world-class Barber Motorsports Park road-race course.
