The British Supercross Championship bursts back into action
with a vengeance with three nights of racing over two
consecutive weekends. It all gets going at Liverpool's Echo
Arena on Friday January 23rd and Saturday the 24th, followed
by the finale at The O2 Arena, London on Saturday January
31st.
The series has attracted the best of British Supercross riders
and an impressive line-up of international riders from the US,
Canada, South Africa, France, Spain, Ireland and Scandinavia.
The US will be represented by current British SX1 champ and
former US outdoor champ Mike Brown and latest additions to the
line-up US rider Zach Osborne and Teddy Maier who will be
making their British Supercross debuts.
Osborne impressed GP fans by winning his first GP in Ireland
in 2008 and will be competing on a Dixon UTAG Yamaha. Kawasaki
rider Teddy Maier from Iowa has made a name for himself in US
Arena-cross and more recently the Canadian Arena-cross and
Motocross Championships.
Speaking of Canadians Dixon UTAG Yamaha will also be
represented at both Liverpool and London by three Canadian
riders, also British Supercross regulars with SX2 British
Supercross Champ Colton Facciotti, who took the win in the SX1
class at Sheffield back in October. Joining him will be former
Canadian Arena-cross champion and last year's winner at The O2
Arena, Kyle Beaton plus five times Canadian MX1 champion Jean
Sebastian Roy better known as JSR. Other Canadians making the
trip over the Atlantic will be last year's Liverpool SX2
winner Kris Foster, who will be joined by fellow Canadian
Kawasaki team-mate Brock Hoyer on DK Offroad Kawasaki's. South
African's Neville Bradshaw and Lloyd Vercuiel, Spain's Xavier
Hernandez and Norwegian Rasmus Jorgensen will also add to the
international line-up
The best of the UK will also be raring to go. Ireland's PAR
Honda rider Gordon Crockard, Relentless Suzuki's Martin Barr
and former British Outdoor and Supercross Champ MVRD Suzuki
rider Carl Nunn are amongst the favourites for the new British
Open Supercross title as is head to head star Ashley Greedy.
Greedy, the hugely popular head to head dash for cash star
will keep the fans on the edge of their seats adding to the
entertainment.
New for Liverpool and London will be the first ever appearance
of Quads in British Supercross, with a record numbers of rider
entrees and very strong pre-ticket sales at both venues it all
promises to be a great conclusion to the official ACU FIM
