Winners
in 2008 AMA Membership Sweepstakes announced
PICKERINGTON, Ohio -- There are numerous
rewards for motorcyclists who renew their AMA membership,
including more than two dozen member benefits, access to
AMA-sanctioned events, and representation at the highest
levels of government in Washington, D.C. And for one lucky
AMA member, those benefits included winning a 2008 Triumph
Bonneville!
Matthew Hampton from Georgetown, Ky., won the grand prize
in the 2008 AMA Membership Sweepstakes, which included
members who renewed their membership in 2008. Hampton, 31,
is a four-year member and a long-time motorcyclist. He
started riding dirtbikes at "4 or 5" years old
and says he'll now ride "just about anything with two
wheels."
"I'm blown away by this," Hampton said. "I
don't know what to say. This is incredible. I just sold my
GSX-R600. I used to have a V Star 1100. I ride anything I
can get my hands on, and I sell and buy bikes quite a bit.
I'll tell you, though, I've never gotten one this cheap
before."
The Triumph Bonneville combines classic British styling in
a modern package. Hampton's new Bonnie came courtesy of
Triumph Motorcycles America Ltd. (www.triumph.co.uk/usa/)
and the AMA. It was delivered through Motohio (www.motohio.com),
a Columbus, Ohio-based dealer of European motorcycles,
including Triumphs.
Other winners in the 2008 AMA Membership Sweepstakes were
awarded $1,000 gift certificates from Bikebandit.com, a
leading online retailer of original equipment manufacturer
and aftermarket products. These winners included: Wyatt
Cummings from Felton, Del.; James Hubbard from Dallas,
Ga.; and Bryan Walter from Pittsburg, Calif.
